Don’t Take The Power From The People!

Ah, the sacred bond between “we the people” and our esteemed lawmakers—a connection as strong as a spider’s web in a hurricane.

The constitution, that hallowed manuscript, asserts that government authority flows like divine nectar from the people. But, alas, it seems our elected officials occasionally mistake divine nectar for lukewarm tea.

The audacity! Quashing the people’s initiative for charter change, a move so bold it could make even a cat burglar blush.

Sure, our representatives are handpicked by the people, but it’s a peculiar magic trick where the elected ones often forget the people’s will faster than you can say “campaign promises.”

If some politicians misuse the people’s initiative for their political escapades, by all means, fix the glitch. But taking it out on the people and their inherent right? That’s like blaming a GPS for leading you astray when you’re the one blindly driving into a lake.

Oh, dear “we the people,” caught in the crossfire of constitutional acrobatics.

Marcos Adds PWDs To Protected Class!

In a groundbreaking move, President Bongbong Marcos has unveiled a bold initiative to champion the rights of a new, previously overlooked demographic – Persons Without Dyowa (PWDs), otherwise known as single individuals.

With the stroke of a pen, Marcos has issued an Executive Order elevating singlehood to a protected class, joining the esteemed ranks of senior citizens, Persons With Disability, and pregnant women.

Timed perfectly for the upcoming Valentine’s Day festivities, the EO ensures that PWDs won’t be left out in the cold when it comes to enjoying the perks of prioritized services and discounts. Now, unattached individuals can revel in discounted meals and special accommodations, turning what was once a solo mission into a communal celebration of independence.

As the nation gears up to commemorate the month of hearts, President Marcos reminds everyone that love may be fleeting, but discounts are forever.

Adobo Chronicles Exclusive: Vilma Santos’ Acceptance Speech At Ralph Recto’s Swearing In As New Finance Secretary.

On behalf of my husband Ralph Recto, I humbly accept his appointment as the new Finance Secretary. Maraming maraming salamat kay Apo Lakay Bongbong Marcos for the confidence he has entrusted to us.

I really, really did not expect this. All we wanted was for the Filipino people to give back their trust in government. Ralph’s appointment is the best thing that ever happened to us — more than the award I received as Best Actress at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

As First Lady of Finance — both in our household and in this administration — I promise to  give my all to make every Filipino proud.

Maraming salamat sa mga Vilmanians for their unwavering support and encouragement.  Your prayers have been answered: I am now closer to the powers-that-be who could finally bestow upon me the same National Artist Award that Ate Guy has received.  I love you, Ate Guy!

To my son, Luis, to my co-star and assistant director of “When I Met You In Tokyo,” Boyet de Leon, thank you.  I love you both.

To Ralph, you are the best husband I could ever have.  Pramis!
