Imee Marcos To Quit Senate To Become A Full-time Movie Actress!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Acting has always been a passion for Imee Marcos. Her political career was almost second fiddle to her desire to be on the big screen.

But she’s had it with politics. She’s quitting and is joining film director Darryl Yap’s cinematic group to become its prime actress.

For starters, Marcos will play herself in the upcoming 3rd installment of Yap’s Marcos/Martial Law films, titled “Mabuhay, Aloha, Mabuhay” which opens on September 21, the anniversary of the proclamation of the the Marcos Martial Law.

Politics’ loss is Cinema’s gain. We need good actors on screen, not in politics.

Adobo Chronicles’ Response To MTRCB’s “Responsableng Panonood” Campaign

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Movie and Television Ratings and Classification Board (MTRCB) has just launched a new campaign it is calling “Responsableng Panonood” (Responsible Viewing).

The campaign is in accordance with the goal of President Bongbong Marcos to promote media and information literacy in the country, and it aims to raise awareness and encourage viewers to engage in responsible viewing habits.

The campaign launch ironically comes on the same day that MTRCB summoned the producers of GTV’s noon-time show “It’s Showtime” for alleged indecent acts by hosts Vice Ganda and real-life partner Ion Perez. The couple was seen on national TV finger-licking some cake icing in front of young children.

Well and good, but shouldn’t MTRCB’s priority be a campaign on “Responsableng Pagpapalabas” (Responsible Showing) to put television networks and shows on notice to adhere to the agency’s guidelines against indecency, insensitivity and corruption of minds of minors?
