FAMAS FIASCO: Explanations Don’t Add Up!

Screenshot

By now, everyone knows about how veteran actress Eva Darren was left out of the FAMAS awards ceremonies at the Manila Hotel. The award-giving body’s explanations, obviously in attempts at damage control, don’t add up.

First, FAMAS said they couldn’t locate Ms. Darren who was supposed to be a presenter along with actor Tirso Cruz III. But pictures don’t lie. Ms. Darren was seated at a reserved table very close to the stage, along with other veteran actresses Divina Valencia and Marissa Delgado. Valencia said they all had name tents to indicate their assigned seating. And by the way, Valencia and Delgado were both awardees and were able to take to the stage to receive their trophies without problems. Production staff didn’t have to come looking for, or paging, them.

Then, the evening’s show director Vince Tañada said he wrote the script himself and had Ms. Darren on it. Yet, in a now-deleted show poster bearing the night’s presenters, Ms. Darren was conspicuously missing.

And let’s not even talk about Lifetime Achievement honorees whose acceptance speeches were cut short and who were escorted off the stage.

Indeed what an FF. FAMAS Fiasco!

Larry Gadon On Bobo Tube: Taxpayer Money At Work!

In a move that only the most brilliant minds of our time could have concocted, disbarred attorney and renowned expert in nothing, Larry Gadon, is set to grace our screens on PTV. Yes, the Anti-Poverty Czar, whose credentials in spreading poverty of intellect are unparalleled, will now host his own show.

Imagine the taxpayer delight as their hard-earned money funds “BOBO Tube,” a fittingly named program for the boob tube generation.

Gadon, an icon of cluelessness, promises to elevate our collective idiocy to new heights, perhaps outshining even “It’s Showtime” and “EAT Bulaga.”

With Gadon at the helm, expect a masterclass in turning viewers’ brains to mush. Who needs quality programming when we can dive headfirst into a cesspool of dimwitted discourse?

Bravo, PTV, for this pioneering assault on intelligence!

Sagot Sa Tanong Ni Ogie Diaz
