Miss Universe Contestants Will Do Anything To Make It To Semifinals

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (The Adobo Chronicles, South American Bureau) – As the Miss Universe competition goes into high gear, the contestants from all over the world are doing all they can to get the attention of fans, judges and the media in the race to at least make it to the semifinals.

Delegates and their supporters are actively urging pageant fans to vote in the online poll for a guaranteed spot in the top 16.

One candidate whose identity has been withheld, had a different, albeit brilliant idea to get attention.

In a boat ride involving several candidates, this contestant chose to ignore a group photo shoot and decided to lay on the boat deck to attract media attention.

While the strategy worked, what the contestant didn’t realize was that she wasn’t wearing a sash to identify the country she represents.

Total fail on IQ!

Beauty Pageants: Expectation Vs. Reality

Ah, the enchanting world of beauty pageants, where expectations and reality do a fancy tango, and Filipinos lead the way in the dance of delusion.

It’s a time-honored tradition to rally behind your candidate, even if it means emptying your pockets to secure them a spot in the semifinals. Who cares about mundane things like rent or groceries when you can cast a vote for the crown, right?

Expectations run wild, with supporters passionately believing that their chosen one is destined for international glory. They don’t just want their candidate to win; they fully expect them to rewrite the laws of physics, charm the universe, and bring back the crown on a golden chariot.

But, as reality smirks from the sidelines, the inevitable truth emerges. Not everyone can be a winner. Beauty is subjective, and the universe’s tiara doesn’t always land on the most popular head.

So, while Filipinos may dream big, they’d do well to remember that the gap between expectation and reality is often as wide as the Atlantic Ocean. But hey, who needs reality when you’ve got your beauty queen daydreams?
