After Twitter Is Renamed X, Other Socmed Platforms Follow Suit!

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – The big news among social media platforms this week is the rebranding of
Twitter to X.
Elon Musk’s company seemed to have inspired competitors to follow suit, changing their names to one letter, and their logos to plain black.

YouTube will now simply be called “Y” and Instagram, “Z.” That completes the last three letter of the English alphabet.

But Meta (formerly Facebook) will not be left behind. Mark Zuckerberg told The Adobo Chronicles that it will soon rebrand (again) as “M.”

But why would The Adobo Chronicles buck the trend? So we are also rebranding and will now be called simply as “A”.

GMA Network Renames GTV to BTV!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – ‘Tis the season for name and logo changes, and GMA television is no exception.

Today, GTV which is entirely owned by GMA Network announced it will rebrand itself and henceforth will be called BTV.

The decision came after GTV and GMA were criticized by Filipino TV audiences for allowing the kind of slapstick and offensive comedy that defines its noon-time show, “It’s Showtime.”

The end of the straw came in a recent episode of the show where real-life partners Vice Ganda and Ion Perez were seen provocatively finger-licking some cake icing in front of children. Many saw the act very inappropriate and called the MTRCB (Movie and Television Ratings and Classification Board) to impose sanctions on the show and network.

Unknown to many, “GTV” stands for “Good TV.” The new name, “BTV” will mean “Bad TV.”

“It’s Showtime” Renamed!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Real-life partners Vice Ganda and Ion Perez were criticized after the “It’s Showtime” episode showing the two TV hosts finger-licking some cake icing — in front of children — went viral.

Motivational speaker Rendon Labador was among those who condemned Ganda and Perez, saying that these kinds of people should never be tolerated.

Meanwhile GMA 7 which airs the ABS-CBN noon-time show is considering renaming it to “It’s
Subotime!” (the Pilipino word ‘subo’ meaning to put into one’s mouth).

The name change could up the ante among the three competing noon-time shows, “EAT BULAGA,” “E.A.T.” and “It’s Showtime” since they would now all be about eating!
