META Apologizes For Its Green Mind!

MENLO PARK, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Was this a case of a META (formerly Facebook) employee having a green mind or a failure of Artificial Intelligence?

META took down a post by a Filipino netizen for what appeared as a photo of a hand cusping a woman’s breast, saying it is a violation of the social media platform’s community standards.

But a cursory zoom out of the subject photo revealed that that it wasn’t a breast but the hand and finger of a woman resting on the shoulder of another.

The post has since been restored.

A case of fertile imagination?

Malacañang Moves To Reduce, Standardize Philippine Holidays!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines has the most number of public holidays anywhere in the world.

Filipinos are also confused about the differences among a regular, special, national, local, working and non-working holidays.

Today, President Bongbong Marcos signed an Executive Order limiting the number of public holidays to not more than one every two months or a total of 6 holidays max per year.

The E.O. also standardizes all holidays to non-working. Workers will be paid their regular day’s wages.

Malacañang said the standardization will avoid confusion over double pay, premium pay, additional percentage pay and all sorts of pay rates.

Marcos said the purpose of a holiday is to give workers a well-deserved paid day of rest, adding that a working holiday is no holiday at all.

A task force will be created to determine the 6 national holidays that will be observed. All local holidays are hereby rescinded.

MMDA To Rename Bicycle Lanes!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After admitting that it was all a misunderstanding, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is renaming all bicycle lanes along EDSA and other thoroughfares to “unmotorized bicycle lanes.”

The announcement came after MMDA complained that the bicycle lanes are mostly being used by motorcycle riders.

But after MMDA technocrats were told that in most countries, motorcycles are also called motorbikes, they recommended the name change to make clear that the special lanes are for the exclusive use of people who ride manually-pedaled bikes.

Now that should clarify things.
