In the grand spectacle of social media theatrics, journalist-blogger Krizette Lauretta Chu takes center stage, firing shots at the perceived snub of President Bongbong Marcos during the recent trilateral summit among the U.S., Japan and the Philippines in Washington, D.C. Oh, the horror!
But before donning the cape of indignation, perhaps Chu should check her facts, lest she trip over her own keyboard. Let’s take a look back to 2023, shall we?
In May, with President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos gracing the White House and rubbing elbows with the Bidens, and even enjoying a brunch hosted by Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Emhoff, one wonders if Chu needs a map or just a better internet connection.
And let’s not forget the cherry on top: President Marcos basking in the glory of full military honors at the Pentagon, the first head of state afforded such under the Biden Administration.
And let’s remind Chu that this official visit to the U.S. was Marcos’ fourth, meeting with Biden in three of them.
So, while Chu laments the absence of red carpets or champagne toasts, perhaps she should polish her own spectacles before embarrassing herself further in the grand amphitheater of social media sensationalism.
