In the annals of irony, Jay Sonza’s transformation from venerable broadcaster to a highly-paid consultant for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s SMNI News is a masterclass in hypocrisy. 

Once a voice of reason, Sonza now dances to the tune of the highest bidder, joining the ranks of rumor-mongers and attack dogs targeting the Marcos administration.

His latest tirade, likening a thief in a barong tagalog to those in power demanding honorifics, is a self-awareness black hole. 

Forgetting his own brushes with the law, Sonza conveniently overlooks his own past of being charged and arrested for thievery.

It seems in Sonza’s world, hypocrisy knows no bounds, and integrity is but a distant memory. 

As he wags his finger at others, he fails to realize that the thief in the mirror bears a striking resemblance to himself. 

Oh, how the mighty have fallen, landing squarely in the lap of irony and shame.
