SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (The Adobo Chronicles, El Salvador Bureau) – European and African countries have collectively decided to withdraw from future Miss Universe Pageants after their candidates were conspicuously absent from the top 10 of the 72nd edition.
Outraged by the dominance of South American beauties in this year’s frontrunner circle, European and African nations expressed their frustration at what they are claiming to be an apparent bias.

Of the 10 semi-finalists, only Miss Spain managed to break the trend, leaving Europe and Africa wondering if the pageant had taken a detour to become a South American exclusive event. To add insult to injury, the pageant was hosted by yet another Latin country, El Salvador, fueling suspicions of a conspiracy. (Two semi-finalists were from Asia — Thailand and the Philippines — and one from Australia; all the rest were from Spanish-speaking countries).
As a result, speculation is rife about the potential creation of separate competitions – the Miss Europe Universe and Miss Africa Universe pageants. Critics argue that this move might be the only way for these continents to reclaim their glory on the international beauty stage.
