Ah, the melodrama of Philippine politics! It’s truly heartwarming to witness the countless folks who swore to pack their bags and jet off to faraway lands if Bongbong Marcos were to claim the presidential throne. 

But as election results came in, the great exodus remained more of a theatrical threat than a reality.

While most armchair revolutionaries conveniently forgot their pledges and clung to their cozy lifestyles, there stands the shining beacon of integrity – none other than thespian extraordinaire Bea Alonzo. 

In a masterclass of political commitment, she didn’t just pay lip service to her all-out support for defeated candidate Leni Robredo but took action, relocating to Spain and establishing herself as a bona fide expat.

Kudos to Bea for proving that some folks in the Philippines can keep their word, even if it means bidding adieu to the archipelago’s political circus.
