U.P. Manila Graduates First Batch Of New Degree: BSCP

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The first ever batch of graduates with the newest degree offering at the University of the Philippines Manila received their diplomas this week at colorful commencement ceremonies at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

There were no latin honors. Everyone graduated with equal recognition for completing their Bachelor of Science in Civil Protest (BSCP).

The Iskolar ng Bayan (Scholars funded by Taxpayers) did not waste any time to show their mettle. They staged their first official civil protest complete with placards and banners — proof that the state university trained them well.

Expect to see the new degree holders soon in a rally near you.

Sen. Bato De La Rosa Wants To Equip Philippine Military With Locally-Made Weaponry!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In response to the water cannon incident involving the Chinese and Philippine Coast Guards in the South China Sea, Senate President Migz Zubiri said he would like the Senate to study amending the National Defense Act to exempt the country’s armed forces from some provisions of the procurement law to buy “modern” equipment faster.

For his part, Sen. Bato dela Rosa suggested that the country should also exert an effort to improve the Government Arsenal and strengthen the development of LOCAL WEAPONRY and AMMUNITION, among others.

Dela Rosa did not specify what local weaponry should be provided the military, but The Adobo Chronicles could think of several indigenous weapons, including the sling shot, the Batangas knife, the bow and arrow, spear and shield and the nunchaku.

Dela Rosa’s proposal would certainly boost the country’s local weapons industry!
