MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles,Manila Bureau) – There could not have been a perfect day to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) back to Manila International Airport.
On Monday, August 21, President Bongbong Marcos will lead in ceremonies for the unveiling of the new airport face marquee bearing the easy-to-remember, easy-to-pronounce original name of the main international gateway to the Philippines.
August 21 happens to be Ninoy Aquino Day, a non-working holiday in the country.
Malacañang said that the timing is most appropriate as it will give the chance for the Aquino family and their supporters to say their last hurrah!
Soon, international flight attendants will be heard announcing: “Ladies and gentlemen, we have just landed at Manila International Airport…”
Mabuhay!
