MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau)- The anti-“fake” news advocate and poster girl Maria Ressa has chosen her successor in the person of Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela.

Unreliable sources told The Adobo Chronicles that Tarriela has been “in training” at Rappler for the past two years.

The PCG spokesperson is very Mariaesque in his comments and responses to the news media.

Earlier, Tarriela who some are saying is a Ressa look-alike, called Filipinos who side with or defend China’s activities in the South China Sea “unpatriotic” and “traitors.”

Now he is saying that alleged fake news peddlers are responsible for pro-China sentiments of many Filipinos.
