DOT Adds A Comma To The Tourism Slogan “Love The Philippines”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Punctuation matters. A Lot!

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has added a comma to its controversial new slogan, “Love The Philippines.”

The revised slogan is now “Love, The Philippines.”

Tourism Secretary Christian Garcia-Frasco said the revised meme better reflects the intent of the new branding.

“It is a love letter from the Philippines,” she told The Adobo Chronicles.

But it turns out it is a letter from the Philippines to other countries in Asia and the Middle East — a letter of shock and awe at the beautiful tourism sites in these foreign countries, specifically, Thailand, Indonesia and the UAE.

But the revised slogan came only after vlogger Sass Rogando Sasot uncovered that some of the video clips used in the “Love The Philippines” promo were stock videos and worse, were not videos of the Philippines

DOT must have paid a lot of money for licenses to use the stock videos – totaling almost P50 million!
