Inquirer Purveyor Of Fake News?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chroniclers, Manila Bureau) – Rappler and Vera Files should focus their “fact-checking” on their fellow Pinklawan — one of the major newspaper dailies in the Philippines. It is unfortunate that fake news spread by Inquirer.net escapes the watchful eye of these self-appointed censors.

Case in point: Inquirer.net recently posted a selfie photo of ex-Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo with Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska. In its caption, Inquire said one of them “delivered a very moving speech.” Inquirer didn’t specify who between the two ladies delivered the (moving) speech.

Was it intentional for the Inquirer to be vague about its caption in the hope that it will boost the image of their favorite — and defeated — presidential candidate, Robredo?

Or were the Inquirer editors non-caring and too lazy to check the work of their trainee-reporter?

Either way, it’s fake news. Or even worse. And if Rappler and Vera Files won’t call out Inquirer, The Adobo Chronicles will, as we do now!
