MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Inquirer is reporting that the Bureau of Immigration is hiring more personnel to be deployed to major airports nationwide.
The move comes after reports than a Filipino passenger flying out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was offloaded her flight because an immigration officer subjected her to intense screening, demanding to see the passenger’s college yearbook.
The Bureau told The Adobo Chronicles that it needed more immigration officers so it could strictly implement its policy of allowing only legitimate and qualified Filipinos from leaving the country — for work or tourism.
