Ex-VP Leni Robredo Lectures DSWD Sec, Usec!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Ex-Vice President Leni Robredo may be out but she is not down. She paid a surprise visit to DSWD this week.

Still in denial that she no longer has a position in government, she assumed that she can lecture DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo and his Undersecretary Jerico Javier.

With finger pointed at the two top officials, Robredo said they should follow her footsteps as the most efficient government person ever, stepping up where government failed and taking every opportunity to promote herself and her office.

Unreliable sources told The Adobo Chronicles that she demanded DSWD to coordinate with her volunteer network (Angat Buhay) because Tulfo and Javier could learn many things from her management style. She reportedly asked Tulfo to turn over all DSWD relief supplies to Angat Buhay and let her NGO handle all social welfare programs, with or without calamities.

Rappler Is Recruiting!

MANDALUYONG, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Mandaluyong Bureau) – Rappler, the least-trusted news brand in the Philippines whose CEO Maria Ressa is a convicted criminal, is recruiting!

The news website which was recently ordered shut down by the Securities and Exchange Commission has posted a job announcement for interns and volunteers (read: unpaid) who may be interested in furthering their journalism career.

However, even if it is a pro bono position, Rappler is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that only the committed and extremely qualified apply and will be subject to a lot of fact-checking and intensive screening.

See if you qualify:

President Bongbong Marcos Orders Retention Of August 21 As A National Holiday

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s perhaps one of the most difficult decisions President Bongbong Marcos has had to make so far: to retain August 21 as a national holiday.

August 21 is the death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino, and is the birthday of the First Lady, Lisa Araneta Marcos.

But it is also common knowledge that August 21 is the anniversary of the Plaza Miranda bombing which many believe to be the works of anti-Marcos and communist elements. It resulted in the death of 9 people and injury to 95. Aquino was mysteriously absent during that Liberal Party rally.

Marcos’ decision came in the form of an Executive Order.

All’s well that ends well.
