BATAC, Ilocos Norte (The Adobo Chronicles, Batac Bureau) – Move over, Adobo. Under a Bongbong Marcos presidency, bagnet will replace adobo as the Philippines’ national dish.

The crispy, double-fried Ilocano pork delicacy is not just Marcos’ favorite dish, but also his running mate Sara Duterte’s.

The editorial board of The Adobo Chronicles has been having meetings to decide if it would move to change its name to Bagnet Chronicles, effective June 30, 2022.
