
SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – On the twelfth day of April, in the Year of our Lord, 2022, Facebook took down The Adobo Chronicles’s page on its social media platform.
While the Facebook action blocked access to the page of the satirical site among at least 17,000 followers and then some, Adobo Chronicles’s main site on WordPress remained live and continues to attract more visitors to its unprecedented 27 million views worldwide since its inception.
Immediately, netizens reacted to FB’s unpublishing of the AC page, getting serious on both Facebook and Twitter about the shocking news on their favorite satirical site.

AC protested Facebook’s action on the grounds that satire is universally protected as free speech. No response from Facebook as of this writing.
Just days prior, Facebook proudly announced that it had taken down or suspended some 400 FB accounts in the Philippines, alleging that these pages were being used as disinformation venues in connection with the Philippine elections this coming May 9th.
The Adobo Chronicles has been named in the Top 100 Satirical Sites worldwide, gaining the 19th spot behind the No.1, ”The Onion.”
