BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio City Bureau) – Former Senator and Presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos’ call for a unified leadership is gaining more ground as his campaign supporters swell by the minute.

Marcos said that bringing unity to the nation is the greatest gift that the Filipino people can give this Christmas.

“Only together as a unified nation shall Filipinos be victorious during and after the pandemic. Ito na siguro ang pinakamagandang pamasko na maiisip ko para sa ating lahat, ang makitang unti-unting nagbubuklod, nagkakaisa ang ating bansa. Tuloy-tuloy ang pagkakaisa dahil ito ang pinakamagandang pamasko natin sa ating lahat (Only together as a unified nation shall Filipinos be victorious during and after the pandemic. This is the greatest Christmas gift that I think we can give to everyone to see our nation bonding together and uniting. Continuous unity is the best Christmas gift we can give to all),” he said in a recent statement.

Now, even erstwhile opponent Vice President Leni Robredo is considering withdrawing from the Presidential race after continuing to fare poorly in practically all pre-election polls and surveys.

“Sa aking nakikita, mukhang wala na tayong pag-asa na makabangon pa sa di nakanais-nais na puwesto natin sa mga surveys,” Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles. (From what I see, it looks like there is no hope for us to be able to rise from our unfavorable standing in the surveys.)

She added: ”Isa pa, bilang isang self-appointed ”ina ng bayan,” nais kong ipakita sa buong bayan na tapat ang aking hangarin para sa aking mga anak – hindi lang yung tatlo kong dalagang anak na puro babae — kundi lahat ng mga Pilipino na anak ko kasama na ang mga loyalists, DDS at pinkachu.” (Furthermore, as a self-appointed ”mother of the nation,” I would like to show all the people that I am sincere in my desire for my children — not just my three daughters who are all girls — but all my Filipino children, including the [Marcos] loyalists, DDS [Duterte Die-hard Supporters] and ’pinkachus’)

The Vice President is reportedly preparing an official announcement which insiders say will heed Marcos’ call for unity.
