Marcos is infamous for her shoe collection. After she left Malacañang Palace, press reports worldwide took note of her lavish wardrobe, said to include 15 mink coats, 508 gowns, 888 handbags, and 3,000 pairs of shoes.

But Aquino, who belongs to the family that was the Marcoses’ arch rival, isn’t criticizing Imelda’s shoe collection. In fact she’s fiercely defending it!

Aquino told The Adobo Chronicles that it would be hypocritical of her to attack the Madam when she herself has a sizeable shoe collection, and is very proud of it.

In fact, she gave The Adobo Chronicles an exclusive tour of her shoe closet. It wasn’t quite 3,000 shoes, but it would be enough for her to change pairs of shoes three times a day for an entire month and still have plenty leftover.
