Senator Risa Hontiveros Endorses Sara Duterte For President

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Opposition Senator Risa Hontiveros is endorsing Presidential daughter Sara Duterte for President — all for the sake of women power.

Hontiveros was reacting to a recent statement by Rodrigo Duterte that women are not fit to be President. He was commenting on speculation that his daughter is running to succeed him in 2022.

In a post on her Twitter account, Hontiveros said that women will take back the Presidency for a more worthy administration. She didn’t mention Sara by name, but it was obvious she was referring to the Davao City Mayor who, in a recent Pulse Asia survey, topped the list of potential Presidential candidates in 2022.

On A Woman President: Duterte Says He Was Misquoted

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – President Rodrigo Duterte is in hot water after he commented that women are not fit for the Presidency. He made the statement as he denied speculation that his daughter Sara is running in 2022 to succeed him.

Many women and advocates criticized the President, tagging his statement as misogynistic.

But Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque clarified that Duterte was misquoted, and that Duterte did not say “Hindi ito pambabae” (it’s not for women). What the President said, according to Roque was “Hindi ito pambababae” (It’s not about womanizing).

Roque said that the context of his statement had something to do with past Presidents who have been known to be womanizers or were romantically linked to women other than their First Ladies.

Now that’s clear.

SARA DUTERTE ACCUSES HER FATHER OF MISOGYNY

DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao Bureau) – Davao City Mayor ‘Inday’ Sara Duterte is accusing her own father, President Rodrigo Duterte of misogyny.

The accusation came after the President told reporters that women are not fit for the top position in the land. He was commenting on the speculation that Sara will run for President in the 2022 elections.

The younger Duterte is reportedly preparing an Executive Order that would bar the President from entering Davao City, and declaring him ‘persona non grata.’

Malacañang has not yet commented on Sara’s accusation.
