QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Throughout the unprecedented 12 Congressional committee hearings to determine the fate of ABS-CBN’s new broadcast franchise, supporters of the embattled network flooded social media with their hashtag of #VoteYesToABSCBN.

Well, it worked.

Today, the House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Franchises voted 70 to 11, with the yes votes winning. There were 2 inhibitions and 1 abstention.

But alas, the yes votes were for the Technical Working Group’s recommendation to deny a new franchise for ABS-CBN.

Should the network supporters have used a different hashtag instead?
