MANILA, Philipines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Three Opposition Senators — Risa Hontiveros, Kiko Pangilinan and Franklin Drilon — are calling for a Senate Hearing on the alleged extra-judicial killings of thousands of mussels in Manila Bay.
The call came just hours after ABS-CBN News reported that mussels were found dead in Manila Bay.
The Senators want to summon witnesses and resource persons to determine whether the killings were connected to the Duterte administration’s war on drugs which they said has resulted in the death of tens of thousands of drug addicts and dealers.
Pangilinan told The Adobo Chronicles that the focus of the hearing is to determine whether the mussels fought back when they were being harvested.
”It’s all in aid of legislation,” Pangilinan said.
Vice President Leni Robredo said she was 100% behind the Senate hearing.
