MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – What could be a better day to protest against Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte for what some are calling his failure to fulfill a campaign promise to end ENDO — the contractualization of workers — than May 1, Labor Day.
So, armed with bright-colored placards demanding that Duterte end ENDO, protesters marched in the the streets near Malacañang — all 5,000 or so of them.
But when Duterte announced that he has signed an Executive Order ending ENDO, the protesters said, “We were kidding. We just wanted something to protest about.”
End of the ENDO story.
