MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A new group called ‘Tindig Pilipinas’ was launched at Club Filipino in San Juan on Monday.
Senators and congressmen from the minority bloc led by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, and Sen. Francis Pangilinan were present at the launch.
President Rodrigo Duterte made a surprise appearance to the delight of the attendees.
The group will organize a rally to celebrate the anniversary of the declaration by the late Ferdinand E. Marcos of Martial Law on September 21.
The new movement also pledged full support for the government’s war on drugs, acknowledging that the Philippines cannot rise (tindig) unless the country’s illegal drug trade is permanently addressed.
See, there are things that both the Dutertards and Yellows can agree on. It’s a matter of political will.
