MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – When asked in a live radio interview about her intention to run for President  in 2022, Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo said:  “2022 is still very far, but if you would ask me, I don’t have plans to run in 2022.”

This is what she told “Saksi sa Dobol B” program host Mike Enriquez over DZBB.

So that ends all speculation about Robredo’s ambition to succeed Rodrigo Duterte.

Duterte’s six-year term ends in 2022.

Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez clarified that the Vice President’s  statement should not be interpreted to mean that she doesn’t want to become president.

“She just doesn’t want to wait till 2022,” Hernandez said. “She wants it now.”
