SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – Social Media giant Facebook is serious about dealing with the issue of fake news on the Internet.  By now, most FB account holders have received that tutorial about how to be on the lookout for fake news.

But fake news on Facebook has to start somewhere — the account holder.

So today, Mark Zuckerberg announced that effective immediately, FB account holders using fake profile photos will be disbarred from using the social media platform.

So, if you are not Rodrigo Duterte, Donald Trump, Leni Robredo, Britney Spears or Bruno Mars, you can’t use their images as your profile photo, lest your account be shutdown by Facebook.

Oh, and even if your Bichon Frisé is the most beautiful furry companion ever, you can’t use her photo either as your profile pic. Sorry, that’s the rule!
