WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) –ABC News is reporting that President-elect Donald Trump has cancelled a visit to the National African American Museum due to a scheduling conflict. He was scheduled to visit the museum on Martin Luther King Day.
Well, it appears that it is not just the museum visit he is canceling.
Trump has cancelled attendance at his own presidential inauguration on January 20.
A spokesperson for the 45th president of the United States said that the reason for the cancellation was also due to a scheduling conflict.
“We apologize for any inconvenience caused by his non-appearance at his oath-taking ceremony, but our interns messed up with Trump’s appointment schedule,” the spokesperson said. He said he was not at liberty to disclose where Trump will be on the day and time of his inauguration. He only said, “definitely not in D.C.”
There is speculation that Trump’s cancellation was in rebuke of the decision by some U.S. legislators to boycott his inauguration.
Trump tweeted, “They are boycotting my inauguration? Well, it will blow in their face. I’m not attending either.”
