LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – It would never have happened if Donald Trump still owned the Miss U.S.A. Pageant — being booed by thousands of members of the live audience and millions more watching the televised show in Las Vegas.

During the question-and-answer session at Sunday night’s pageant, one of the five finalists, Miss Hawaii Chelsea Keolahni Hardin, was asked which of the presumptive U.S. presidential nominees she would vote for.

As soon as Trump’s name was mentioned by the hosts, the crowd erupted into loud boos. Then, when Hillary Clinton’s name came up, there were loud cheers and applause.

Many analysts said that the jeering that met the mention of Trump could be the result of misogynistic comments by the presumptive Republican nominee at various occasions during the primaries and debates, including his comments against fellow candidate Carly Fiorina and  FOX news anchor Megyn Kelly.

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Trump while watching the pageant at his penthouse suite at the Trump Towers in Las Vegas. He told us that the crowd was actually booing Clinton. “I love women and women love me,” he said. “There is no way anyone would boo me especially in a pageant that I created.”

Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber won the title.  Miss Hawaii was first runner-up.
