Carly Fiorina To Ted Cruz: You Idiot!

imageINDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (The Adobo  Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Many Republicans are not happy at today’s announcement by Senator Ted Cruz that he was suspending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, but none as furious as Carly Fiorina.

It will be recalled that just last week, Cruz named Fiorina his vice presidential pick should he become the GOP presidential nominee.

“You idiot,” Fiorina said, referring to the senator, “you used me, and teased me.  I agreed to be your running mate because it was my ticket to becoming a heartbeat away from the presidency.  Now you’ve suddenly quit and threw me under the bus just like that!”

The Cruz camp hasn’t returned calls by The Adobo Chronicles.

This Year, Cinco De Mayo Falls On May 5

image.jpegSAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – It’s celebration time.  But first, let’s get this out of the way: Americans and people worldwide think that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s Independence Day. That’s farthest from the truth.  Additionally, it is not celebrated nationwide in Mexico.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States.

This year, Cinco De Mayo falls on May 5th.

Let’s celebrate!

Why Vice President Jojo Binay Is Quiet On The Campaign Front

imageMAKATI CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Filipino voters are wondering why there seems to be an eerie silence on the part of Vice President Jojo Binay’s camp. In contrast, his presidential rivals are not only busy traversing the country for last-minute appeals to the voters before the May 9 elections; they have also been hurling accusations against each other, ranging from hidden bank accounts to vote-buying.

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with the vice president on his way to playing a round of golf at the Wack Wack Gold & Country Club in Mandaluyong.

We asked him why he hasn’t been seen in public since his last campaign appearance with senatorial candidate Alma Moreno, where he was video-taped dancing on stage with the with Moreno and making fun of the actress’ breasts.

Binay told us that he is done with campaigning.  He is very confident that he will be elected the next president.

“I take the Office of the President very seriously, and I’m spending the rest of the campaign period in seclusion, writing my inaugural speech which I want to be remembered not just in the Philippines but around the world.

He volunteered to provide us with the title of his speech: “Mayroon Akong Panaginip,” which is patterned after Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

Perhaps, when the polls close on Monday, Binay will eventually wake up from his dream.
