MAKATI CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Despite consistently being fourth in national polls, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas says that he is very confident he will be elected next president of the Philippines.
In a recent statement, Roxas said that even Makati City, known to be the bailiwick of Vice President Jejomar Binay, is “now very yellow,” referring to the color of the Liberal Party under which he is running.
Reacting to Roxas’ comment, Binay who is former mayor of Makati and whose wife and children have ruled Makati for over a decade, just laughed it off. “Ano siya, hilo?” he said (What is he, dazed and confused?).
To prove his point , the Roxas campaign released a photograph recentlly taken of Makati, complete with its skyline and the shanties that line its perimeter. The photos shows a yellowed-out city seen through the eyes and camera lenses of the Liberal Party.
