PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS APOLOGIZES FOR TODAY’S FRONT-PAGE HEADLINE

imagePHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (The Adobo Chronicles) – Newsroom layoffs have finally caught up with the Philadelphia Daily News, particularly the lack of headline writers and copy editors.  Case in point: today’s front page.

The Daily News ran a front page cover with a photo of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his latest pronouncement calling for the banning of all Muslims from entering the United States.

The headline read, “The New Furor.”

Moments after the December 8 edition of the paper hit the newsstands and images of  the front page were posted on the Internet, the editors issued a public apology.

“Today, we ran a front page headline bearing the word, ‘Furor.’ It was a misspelling.  The correct word should have been ‘Führer,’ the editors said. “We sincerely apologize for this grave error.”
