IF ELECTED, PHILIPPINE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DUTERTE WILL LEGALIZE POLYGAMY

imageDAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles ) – Tough-talking, renegade Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, is slowly but surely defining his platform as he officially launched his campaign to become the next president of the Philippines.

Duterte is known for his iron-fist and extra-judicial style of management as mayor of one of the largest cities in the country.  In the past, he has said he will abolish congress if elected. Oftentimes, he would threaten to execute criminals himself. Once, he forced a man who violated the no-smoking ban to swallow his cigarette butt.

Today, Duterte promised that if he becomes president, he will legalize polygamy, a practice that is not allowed under Philippine laws as well as the laws of the Roman Catholic Church.

Duterte announced this latest platform after admitting he not only has two wives, but two girlfriends as well. The men in the audience cheered him on, but Catholic netizens and women’s rights advocates took to social media to condemn the mayor’s statements.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Mob bosses, drug lords and illegal gambling kingpins are going all out to derail the presidential candidacy of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Dueterte, according to the mayor’s VP running mate, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

Cayetano said it is not only Duterte’s political rivals that are worried about the mayor’s candidacy, but also  people whose interests would be hurt if he were victorious because of his tough stance against crime and corruption. Duterte is known for his iron-fist and extra judicial style of management as mayor of Davao City.

“When one is a clear leader, there is always the likelihood of being ganged-up (on). Apart from political opponents, no crime lords or drug lords would want him to win and hamper their illegal business,” Cayetano said.

According to Cayetano, Duterte’s popularity being evident, the challenge for the candidate and his supporters now is to “safgeguard the legal process.”

Apparently, Cayetano’s definition of “legal process” includes  taking the law into one’s own hand, as Duterte is known to do.

OAKLAND, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Just moments after basketball star Kobe Bryant of the L.A. Lakers announced that he will be retiring at the end of the current NBA season, The Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry shocked the sports world by announcing he is retiring effective immediately.

“It’s a matter of knowing when to quit,” Curry told The Adobo Chronicles.  “There is no better time to retire than when my team has achieved an all-time record start of 18-0 in this current season,” Curry added. “I’m just following the example of boxing champion Floyd Mayweather who has retired after a zero loss record.”

Asked what he’s going to do next, Curry said he will devote 100% of his time to his family.  He has two daughters with his wife Ayesha — Riley (the press confererence darling) and Ryan Carson.
