Manila, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Just days after the crowning of the new Miss World Philippines, Valerie Weigmann, contestants in the beauty pageant filed a formal complaint against the organizers for their ‘photoshopped’ official portraits.
Head shots of all 26 pageant candidates were taken by official photographers as part of the promo leading up to pageant night.
When the photos were published, the candidates were shocked to find out that their photographs didn’t look anything close to their natural look. They claimed that organizers photoshopped each and every photo to look like Barbie– fair and silky complexion, unblemished and looking like plastic dolls.
“They made us all look alike,” one contestant complained. Another said, “the photos diminished our chances to stand out and to win the title.”
Pageant organizers did not return calls from The Adobo Chronicles seeking comment on the ladies’ allegations.
Weigmann will represent the Philippines in the Miss World Pagent to be held in London on December 14. She hopes to succeed another Filipina, Megan Young, who was last year’s Miss World.
