“Love The Philippines” Slogan Inspiration

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The ad agency responsible for the Philippines’ Department of Tourism new slogan has finally revealed the inspiration for its “Love The Philippines” branding.

DDB said in a statement that the presentation uploaded on social media was meant to be a “mood video to excite internal stakeholders about the campaign.”

DOT was earlier criticized for the use of stock video clips (not of the Philippines). It also turns out that “Love The Philippines” is not an original concept, but a copycat of “Love Cyprus.”

Cyprus Sues Philippine Department Of Tourism For Copyright Infringement!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – So, not only were stock video slips of other countries used in the Department of Tourism’s new branding for the Philippines, the slogan itself is not original.

Our sources are saying that the Republic of Cyprus has long used the slogan, “Love Cyprus” and is contemplating on suing the DOT for copyright infringement in connection is its use of the “Love The Philippines.”

Ad agency DDB definitely knows how to charge big for copied images and slogans. Smart *sses.

‘Love The Philippines’ Promo Video Replaced With Tourism Poster.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After that embarrassing video uploaded by the ad agency to promote the ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign, the Philippines’ Department of Tourism reverted to a more traditional promo poster.

With the help of in-house artists from The Adobo Chronicles, a simple, yet engaging poster was unveiled yesterday.

It features the image of the air-conditioned Love Bus that premiered during the time of Ferdinand E. Marcos, inspired by First Lady Imelda R. Marcos.

Many Filipinos loved the Love Bus, so DOT says foreigners will love it too, and by extension, love the Philippines.

Let’s all give love a chance!
