FINALLY: WORLD PEACE!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Move over, firepower! The world has finally come to lasting peace, thanks to water cannons.

From the South China Sea to New York City; from Sydney, Australia to Okada Manila, water cannons have become the weapon of choice, ensuring that none of the death and destruction that characterized World Wars I and II, and all wars thereafter ever happen again.

From hereon, wars will be fought not through guns and bombs. Rather, they will be wars of intimidation using a resource that every single country in the world has access to: water!

Peace be with you all!

Sen. Bato De La Rosa Wants To Equip Philippine Military With Locally-Made Weaponry!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In response to the water cannon incident involving the Chinese and Philippine Coast Guards in the South China Sea, Senate President Migz Zubiri said he would like the Senate to study amending the National Defense Act to exempt the country’s armed forces from some provisions of the procurement law to buy “modern” equipment faster.

For his part, Sen. Bato dela Rosa suggested that the country should also exert an effort to improve the Government Arsenal and strengthen the development of LOCAL WEAPONRY and AMMUNITION, among others.

Dela Rosa did not specify what local weaponry should be provided the military, but The Adobo Chronicles could think of several indigenous weapons, including the sling shot, the Batangas knife, the bow and arrow, spear and shield and the nunchaku.

Dela Rosa’s proposal would certainly boost the country’s local weapons industry!

China Coast Guard: We Were Merely Saluting Philippine Vessel!

BEIJING, China (The Adobo Chronicles, Hong Kong Bureau) – The Philippines’ coast guard and military condemned on Sunday what they called the China Coast Guard’s “dangerous” actions after it fired water cannons at Philippine vessels, the latest of Beijing’s aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea.

But it was all a misunderstanding.

The Chinese Coast Guard said it was merely executing a formal salute as a friendship gesture to the Filipinos.

It is a fact that water cannons are used worldwide as a celebratory display for various occasions, including anniversaries of bridges, the landing of inaugural flights at airports, and other commemorative occasions.
