Can We Claim Ryan Gosling As One Of Our Own?

Screenshot

We’ve known of many famous Hollywood celebrities to be half-Filipino or who descended from Filipinos. Could we add Ryan Gosling to our list?

According to a Melbourne-based Facebook group, Herencia Hispanofilipina, Ryan’s great-great grandfather, Ramon Gonzales y Catanuanes, hailed from Nasugbo, Batangas in the Philippines before immigrating to Canada.

We’d love to hear from Ryan or his family!

An Ode To Celebrity Splits

Screenshot

In the land where stars shine bright,

Filipino celebs take flight,

But when splits happen in the limelight,

Gossip churns, a scandalous plight.

Was it prenups, contracts tight,

Or infidelity, love took flight?

Speculation swirls, oh what a sight,

Media feasting, with all their might.

Whispers of sexual orientation, who’s wrong, who’s right,

Tabloids spin tales, in the dead of night.

Did they stray from the script, the love they’d write?

Or were they just actors, playing the part, not tight?

In the circus of fame, where rumors ignite,

Every move dissected, under glaring light.

Oh, Filipino stars, in the public’s sight,

Your splits fuel the fire, of gossip’s delight.

Philippine TV News Programs Prepare For Mindanao Secession.

In a bid to prepare for the looming secession of Mindanao from the Philippines, the scriptwriters of ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” and GMA’s “24 Oras” have undertaken a revision of their opening salvo, turning their once harmonious greetings into a comedic reflection of the country’s potential fragmentation.

Viewers can now anticipate Kabayan Noli de Castro’s iconic opening scream of “Magandang Gabi Bayang LuzVi,” replacing his customary “Magandang Gabi Bayan.” Meanwhile, Mel Tiangco’s signature greeting of “Magandang Gabi Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao” will undergo a melodious alteration to the high-pitched rendition of “Magandang Gabi Luzon at Visayas.”

The satirical twist reflects the absurdity of the situation, where national unity seems on the brink of dissolution. While the nation braces itself for uncertain times ahead, television networks appear ready to inject humor into the impending chaos, reminding viewers that even in the face of division, laughter may still be the best medicine.
