Ah, the eternal saga of motorcycles in Metro Manila – a tale of chaos, entitlement, and an insatiable appetite for more. They say, “Give them a finger, and they’ll take the entire arm,” and nowhere is this truer than on our metropolis’ main thoroughfares. Motorcyclists, the perennial pests of the road, make every motorist’s commute a nightmare. Courtesy? Ha!They know not the meaning of the word.

Designated motorcycle lanes are but a mere suggestion to these self-proclaimed kings of the road, who weave in and out of traffic with reckless abandon. And let’s not even mention their audacity to occupy lanes meant for cars and buses, as if they own the asphalt beneath their wheels.

Perhaps it’s time we grant their wish for a skyway of their own, where they can soar like wayward pigeons, free from the constraints of traffic laws and common decency. After all, why should the rest of us be burdened by their two-wheeled tyranny?
