QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau)- When someone says, “I heard it through the grapevine,” it’s a nice way of saying that one heard the information by means of gossip and rumor.

In Tagalog, that translates into “balita ko” which basically says one heard the news possibly through rumor or from unreliable sources.

In its bid to be different from its competitor news programs, GMA Integrated News recently launched a new, innovative format for its news reporting through the news program, “Balita Ko.”

In the new format, both anchors and field reporters make sure that their viewing audience know that their news are based on gossip or unconfirmed reports. They always introduce their news with “balita ko!”
