MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Adobo Chronicles publisher and editor Rene Astudillo has been nominated for the 2023 Awit Awards (equivalent of the U.S. Grammys) for “Best Jazz Recording.”

The single, titled “SINYOR: Hindi Lahat Magkakaedad” was composed by Rafael “Pikes” Salvador, is about the joys and challenges of being a senior citizen. It is set to the “big band” arrangement of Jun Tamayo. Reck Cardinales is the song’s producer.

Others in the production team include Voice Coach Arnie Mendaros, Sound Engineer Jess Fermino, and Producer Reck Cardinales. It was recorded in September of 2022 at the Wild Grass Studios in Quezon City.
