MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau ) – Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” received 316K streams on Spotify yesterday, a 75% increase compared to the same day in 2022. The spike was attributed to Filipinos who started celebrating their Christmas season last September 1.

Local artist Jose Mari Chan has traditionally ruled the airwaves as well as public address systems at malls and other establishments at the onset of the Philippine Christmas season with his Christmas carols, especially that song that starts with “Whenever I see girls and boys…”

But alas, the Christmas King has been replaced by the new Christmas Queen.
