Leni Robredo Cited In Old Balara, Quezon City For Playing Lato-Lato!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – It doesn’t matter if you were the former Vice President of the Philippines. When visiting any of the Barangays, you have to follow established ordinances.

Leni Robredo was cited by the Barangay Tanod (village police) in Old Balara in Quezon City for playing lato-lato, that annoying, noisy and dangerous game of clicking balls to make a loud clapping noise.

The barangay has an existing ordinance which bans the sale, possession, or playing lato-lato.

In fairness, Robredo wasn’t aware of the ordinance and simply wanted to show her skill in playing with balls to a group of supporters.

After being questioned by the police, Robredo was issued a citation and ordered to pay a fine of P69.
