QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It looked like her but it wasn’t her.

Filipinos woke up this morning to the news and video of the collapse of a bridge in Zamboanga City, causing injury to government officials who fell into the sea.

“OMG, it’s Leni,” many Filipinos were heard screaming as they watched the wooden bridge to a housing project collapse in front of their eyes.

But a fact-check made by The Adobo Chronicles has confirmed that Robredo is safe and sound.  The lady in a pink cap wasn’t the Vice President, but the mayor of Zamboanga City.

Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez told reporters that it could not have been the Vice President.  “If it were her,  she would have been wearing a yellow, not pink baseball cap,” Hernandez said.

Soon after the incident, Robredo logged on to her Facebook account and marked herself ‘safe.’
