MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Former Comelec Chair Andy Bautista is finally returning to the Philippines this weekend.  He has been out of the country since his arrest was ordered by the Senate for failing to personally appear at hearings investigating his unexplained wealth.

But Bautista’s reason has nothing to do with his arrest order.

Rather, he is here to celebrate the first anniversary of his life-changing experience last year — the kissing of his feet by Jose Antonio Cardinal Tagle. It is a Lenten tradition practiced in the Roman Catholic Church.

Talk about foot fetish.
