DOLE Issues Implementing Guidelines For Its Ban On Mandatory High Heels For Female Workers

IMG_4128.JPGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Department of Labor and Employment has banned the mandatory use of high-heeled shoes among female workers.  The Department’s order all but bans shoes  with heels that are higher than an inch.

A DOLE (the Department, not the pineapple company) official said that the agency has issued implementing guidelines to implement its ban.

Among the guidelines is a suggestion to allow female workers to use elevated flat shoes in lieu of high heels. (See photo.)
