DALLAS, Texas (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Any math teacher will tell you that 17 minus 1 leaves you with 16, but that seems not to be the case with the Republican presidential candidates. The correct answer is 36.
Up until yesterday, the U.S. electorate was closely watching the campaigns of the 17 declared Republican candidates — ten of whom were featured in the last FOX News prime-time debate and seven in the not-so-prime time pre-show.
Now that former Texas Governor Rick Perry has officially announced that he was dropping out of the race, the Republican field now stands at 36 candidates for president.
In his announcement, Perry said, “We have a tremendous field – the best in a generation – so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservatism will be too.”
Here is a complete list of declared Republican presidential candidates still in the running — in alphabetical order.
Who is the next to drop out?
We can now confidently predict that it’s not going to be Donald Trump.
