CUPERTINO, California (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – It’s that time of year when Apple takes center stage to unveil its latest version of its products. As expected, all eyes will be on the new iPhone 6S.
Apple will likely hold a media event on September 9, according to BuzzFeed News. Apple hasn’t sent out invitations just yet, but people familiar with Apple’s plans told BuzzFeed’s John Paczkowski that it will happen during the week of September 7 — most likely on Wednesday, September 9, the same day the Silicon Valley giant unveiled the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year.
There is a reason the new smartphone is being called iPhone 6S.
The ‘S’ stands for Siri.
In this latest incarnation, Siri is the star of the updated technology. ‘S’ might as well mean “secretary.”
There will be no other upgrade from the last iPhone 6 or 6Plus, other than a new, energized , intelligent and more capable Siri.
In iPhone 6S, Siri will become your virtual secretary, able to take down verbal dictations and posting them on your social media account or sending your dictated message to your intended email recipient.
Siri will not only be able to find the nearest hotel or restaurant for you. She will actually make the call to reserve on your behalf. Where a credit card is required to guarantee your reservation, Siri will pick from one of your stored cards which has the largest available credit.
When you get lost in the woods or in a snow avalanche, Siri will automatically send a distress signal to all Siri’s nearby so that their respective iPhone 6S owners can come to your rescue.
How cool is that?
The new iPhone 6S (and 6S Plus) will come in three colors: gold, silver and bronze. It will reportedly retail starting at $999.
