AQUINO ENDORSES PACQUIAO FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016

President Aquino, left, and President Pacquiao?
President Aquino, left, and President Pacquiao?

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Filipinos have long expected President NoyNoy Aquino to endorse his close ally, Local Governments and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas for the 2016 presidential elections. But today’s announcement shocked the entire nation: Aquino has endorsed world boxing champion and congressman Manny Pacquiao!

Aquino revealed his endorsement after Pacquiao made a rare appearance in the Lower House yesterday and unexpectedly made a pitch for President Aquino who is currently parrying calls for his resignation from office due to the Mamasapano encounter with rebels where 44 police officers with the Special Action Force lost their lives.

Pacquiao said Aquino should not resign as he shot back at the President’s critics for judging the Chief Executive too harshly.

This is an unusual show of support for the President from Pacquiao who has been allied with the opposition group, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), which is expected to draft the world champion boxer in its senatorial lineup in 2016.

In announcing his endorsement for the boxer, Aquino said that Pacquiao is well qualified to succeed him because he embodies the fighting character, integrity, and love for country that are needed to make the Philippines great once again. “Pacquiao also has the respect of world leaders because of the name recognition he has built for himself as a world boxing champion.”

Aquino added that Pacquiao even has a new movie, “Manny” which has just been released internationally. “Filipinos love to elect movie actors so I am confident they will have no problem electing  Pacquiao,” he said.

Asked by reporters if Pacquiao’s record as a top lawmaker absentee in Congress will hurt his chances for election, Aquino categorically said, “Not at all! The position of president is a 24-hour, 7 days-a-week job, so his absenteeism is not going to matter much. In fact, because he will reside in Malacanang (presidential palace), he will be present every day.”

Roxas could not be reached for comment, but we expect a fuming mad, foul-mouthed reaction to today’s presidential endorsement.

  1. Manny Pacquiao being a respected global ICON enters Philippine Politics to become an honest public servant serving his people. He lends his name to CORPORATE world when no one ever trusted the Filipino politicians and corrupt government. He became the face they turn to when international organizations need a solid representative. He has done a lot more than the previous CLAN who ruled his wife’s province in the last 60 years. He built the first hospital to help the poor and donated 10 ambulances from his pocket to make sure they can reach remote areas faster. He bought lands to build houses for the poor. He funded over 3,000+ scholars to pay for their educations. Since he found the word of God, he’s building a church with classrooms and offices to help the lost souls to find God again. He accomplished more than a 10 year veteran pro basketball who established personal recognition but he helped the newest team where he is the playing coach establish financially, expose internationally, bring business and attract fans. People who are blind don’t see his purpose. Manny Pacquiao knows what he is doing. He is bigger than politics in the Philippines. He is bigger than basketball in the Philippines. He is Manny Pacquiao, the Legend. His purpose is to make all the fans happy. His purpose is to serve his people with honesty. 2. Kawawa naman ang Pilipinas wala nang mapagpilian for Presidential candidate. I still remember the days when a sample ballot of a candidate is not enough to accommodate his achievements and educational attainment.

  3. What a shit move!!!…. No offense, Manny is a good sportman, but we all know he can’t be in politics… Most likely, the people around him will be doing everything and he is just the ‘signature’ and the ‘face’… Seriuosly, Pinoy??? Makes me feel better that I didn’t vote for you… At least, I didn’t contribute for getting you that Malacanang seat..

    1. he he he whats so wrong with Pacman. He is a person too. He can win too. Important is, he keeps people of integrity in his cabinet and office. They will do the thinking and Pacman does the Punching. With a good staff, the palace can command.
