MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the national organization and mandatory bar association for Filipino lawyers, has a no nonsense message for Amal Clooney, wife of  Hollywood actor George Clooney: “Mind your own business!”

Clooney, a human rights lawyer, is reportedly leading an international team that will defend Rappler CEO Maria Ressa in the criminal cases she is facing in the Philippines for violation of the Constitution, tax evasion and cyber libel.

”Even a 7th grader is smart enough to know that foreign lawyers can’t practice their profession in the Philippines,” an IBP spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles. “She has no business sticking her finger in legal matters exclusive to the Philippines. Aagawan pa kami ng negosyo,” (she’s taking business away from us) he added.

IBP said Clooney should instead focus her energy in joining a team that will work for the impeachment of U.S. President Donald Trump.

”Now, that is her business,” IBP said.
